It’s that time of year again! Earth Day is right around the corner and it’s the perfect opportunity to make a difference and show your commitment to protecting our planet. But don’t worry – you don’t need to be an environmental expert, or even have a green thumb, to do something meaningful this April 22nd. Here are five simple things you can do in your office on Earth Day to help the environment.

1. Organize a Trash Pickup Event

This is one of the easiest ways to make a difference on Earth Day! Round up some volunteers, grab some garbage bags, and head outside for a few hours to pick up trash from your neighbourhood or local park. Bonus points if you showcase what you’re doing on social media and encourage others to join in!

2. Identify High Energy Consumption Devices

Taking stock of which devices in your office use the most energy is a great way to start being more conscious about consumption. Investing in energy-efficient devices will help reduce your carbon footprint and save money over time.

3. Bring Reusable Containers for Lunch

Disposable containers are convenient, but they take up valuable space in landfills. Consider bringing reusable containers with you when packing your lunch – not only will this help reduce waste, but it will also save you money in the long run! Plus, it’s always nice having something tasty waiting for you at lunchtime.

4. Implement a Print Policy

Unnecessary printing is wasteful – so why not challenge yourself (and your colleagues) by introducing a print policy? Put up signs reminding people not to print unless necessary and set goals for reducing paper consumption each month. You might even consider keeping track of how much paper has been saved since implementing the new policy!

5. Walk or Bike to Work vs Driving

Encourage team members who live near the office to walk or bike to work instead of driving their cars on Earth Day (or any day!). Not only will this reduce emissions from cars, but it’s also good exercise that can improve health as well as morale!

Taking small steps such as these can add up quickly when everyone works together – so why wait until April 22nd? Start making positive changes now so that come to Earth Day, we’ll all be ready to celebrate our success!

From organizing trash pickups and identifying energy-consuming devices, all the way down to encouraging employees to bike or walk to work, there are plenty of ways we can make an impact this Earth Day – both big and small. So, let’s get started today!
